Freight rates up on tight position of trucks

NEW DELHI, June 19:  Freight rates for ten-tonne pay load section improved by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following tight position of trucks due to bad road conditions in several parts due to heavy rains.
Transporters said the rise in freight rates for some destinations due to tight availability of trucks due to heavy rains in several parts of the country.
Freight rates for Delhi to Guwahati and Goa moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 55,000 and Rs 52,000.
Rates to Mumbai, Pune and Baroda also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 28,000, Rs 31,000 and Rs 24,000.
Patna, Ahmedabad and Surat freights also asked higher by Rs 1000 at Rs 26,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 26,000.
