Freights fall on excess position of trucks

NEW DELHI, Oct 12:  Freight rates for nine tonne load dropped by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following heavy position of trucks in the markets amid insufficient cargo movements.

Transporters said heavy enquiries by truck operators amid less movements of cargo mainly pulled down some of south-based centres’ freight rates.

Delhi to Mysore, Pondicherry and Coimbatore rates went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 64,000 and Rs 66,000 and Rs 71,000.

Rates to Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Goa also declined by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 78,000, Rs 73,000 and Rs 52,000.
