JAMMU, Aug 2: Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University Ferozepur has started fresh admissions and the new courses as well as the old ones are receiving an overwhelming response.
This was informed by Registrar of the University, Dr Gazal Preet Arneja, while talking to media persons and releasing Information Brochure of the university for 2023-24, here today.
He informed that the University has introduced some new courses following positive response received for the various courses introduced last year.
Dean Academic, Prof Dr Tejeet Singh shared the details of these courses, which include B Sc Computer Science (Specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), B Sc Computer Application and Electronics, Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management, B Sc Hotel Management and Catering Technology, M Tech Transportation Engg (Part Time), Certificate Course in Testing of Building Materials, Certificate Course in Welding, etc.
He further stated that in the previous session, many students from the University secured jobs in multinational companies and many other top companies are being invited for placements this year. He also mentioned that the Placement package for students has increased by almost 25 percent compared to last year. Smart hackathon programs are being conducted for students to think and implement new ideas, he added.
Registrar Dr Gazal Preet Arneja informed that the University presented two research projects selected in the G20 summit. Additionally, he added, the students of the university won a cash prize of Rs 50,000 by participating in an event organized by the Punjab Government.
Giving further information, he stated that the University provides scholarships for meritorious students, 100 percent tuition fee waiver for economically weaker sections, and SC/ST students with an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 Lacs per annum. The university also offers 100 percent fee waiver as per Punjab Government rules. Equipped with Wi-Fi, this University is recognized by All India Council of Technical Education and Council of Architecture.
On this occasion, University Dean Academic Dr Tejeet Singh and PRO Yashpal were also present.
