Jammu : A fresh batch of 2,430 Shri Amarnath pilgrims today left from Yatri Niwas base camp for the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir. “Total 2430 pilgrims, including 539 females and 100 sadhus, left this morning in a cavalcade of 71 vehicles,” an official here said. The devotees left for Pahalgam and Baltal to perform the pilgrimage in 71 vehicles, including 50 buses and 21 light motor vehicles. The yatra is smoothly heading on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. So far, it was suspended twice from here so far due to Kashmir situation, in view of self-styled Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani’s first death anniversary and closed highway due to landslide. ( Agencies)
