KATRA, 13: Due to unprecedented rush of devotees, fresh registration of pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi was once again stopped for the second consecutive day on Sunday.
Official sources told the Excelsior that fresh registration for the pilgrimage was stopped this evening around 5 pm as the number crossed 48 thousands, thus leaving scores of pilgrims stranded at Katra base camp.
Yatra registration at Katra was stopped yesterday evening also after the number of pilgrims reached more than 48 thousands.
Sources said that fresh registration of devotees was stopped by Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for ensuring smooth conduct of the pilgrimage and avoiding any mishap.
