Christian United Federation conducts exhibition matches

JAMMU, Apr 28: Friends XI and Christian Federation XI emerged winners in their respective exhibition matches organised by Christian United Federation at Alexander Memorial High School.
In the matches, four teams namely Christian Star XI, Friends XI, Christ Followers XI and Christian Federation XI participated.
In the first match played under 12 category, Friends XI defeated Christian Star XI by 4 wickets.
Skipper of Friends Club Rohan Gill won the toss and decided to bowl first. Christian Star XI scored only 48 runs for the loss of 8 wickets on 10 overs. Johny was the top scorer with 18 runs including two balls towards the fence while Capras, Nelson and Ivon contributed 12, 8 and 6 runs respectively.
For Friends XI side, Abhi was the chief wrecker, who scalped 3 wickets while Rahul and Kallis claimed 2 wickets each.
While batting, Friends XI chased the target is 8 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Captain Rohan Gill scored 16 runs while Aryaman and Abhi chipped in 14 and 12 runs respectively.
For Christian Star XI, Jonty, Nelson and Mohil scalped 2 wickets each.
Abhi of Friends XI was adjudged as man of the match for his all round performance.
In the second exhibition match, Christian Federation XI registered 14 runs victory over Christ Followers XI in a nail biting match.
Batting first, Christian Federation XI scored 86 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 12 overs. Tiny was the top scorer with 20 runs while Ravi Manchanda, Rakesh, Sampaul also chipped in 14, 12 and 10 runs respectively.
For Christ Followers XI, Rickson claimed 3 wickets while Amit, Romerio, Sourav and Tiny claimed one wicket each.
In the second inning, Christ Followers XI failed to chase the target and bundled out at 72 runs for all out in stipulated 20 overs. Raja chipped in 28 runs while Sandeep and Danny also scored 16 and 12 runs respectively.
Nitu Khoker was adjudged as man of the match.
On the occasion, Nicodemus, president, Christian United Federation, was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winners.
While speaking, Nicodemus advised the children to work hard and do practice more and more and bring laurels to the community and the State.
Rajesh Gill, senior cricketer, apprised the participating cricketers that competition in today’s cricket at every level is very high and lots of hard work, dedication and coaching is required, so prepare the mind accordingly.
