Front highlights demands of PoK refugees

JAMMU, Oct 5: A meeting of executive body of All J&K Sikh Progressive Front was held under the chairmanship of Brig Rajinder Singh to discuss the grievances and demands of the PoK refugees.
The Front accused the State Government of giving step motherly treatment to the displaced persons of 1947 from Muzaffarabad who were not settled in Kashmir Valley but allotted some pieces of land at scattered places in Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur districts so that they could not strengthen politically.
These refugees were not given any financial aid, reservation to their wards in professional colleges and ownership rights on the land under their possession, the Front lamented and appealed the Prime Minister of India as well as J&K Chief Minister to look into their demands, particularly one time settlement  package.
Others who attended the meeting, included Com Sukhdev Singh, Mohan Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Prof Daljit Singh, Surjit Singh, Kulwant Singh, Gurnam Singh and Gurmeet Singh Pinka.
