FSD Conducts Surprise Raids At Different Locations In J&K’s Anantnag

ANANTNAG, Apr 16: Acting on the inputs received regarding sale of suspected spices manufactured by a Noida based firm and suji, a team of Food Safety Department today conducted surprise raids at different locations in the district.

During the raids, the department seized 1400 KGs of suspected spices and 140 KGs of suji (tempered label information) worth an estimated market value of Rs. 573000. Enforcement samples to ascertain the exact quality of the seized stocks have been procured for analysis.
Extensive awareness was also imparted to the stakeholders during the raids regarding the importance of promoting fair practices in the trade.
Further, the Food Safety team warned Food Business Operators to desist from fraudulent practices failing which stern action as per law shall follow against those who are found violating the different provisions of Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006.
