JAMMU, Oct 22: On the eve of Diwali Festival, a team of Food Safety Officers (FSOs) conducted surprise checking of sweet shops in the market.
The team was headed by Assistant Commissioners, Food Safety District Jammu Rural & Municipal Limit Jammu, Ajay Khajuria and Rajan Kapoor under overall supervision of the Commissioner Food Safety , Food and Drug Administration J&K.
The FSOs conducted inspections of various establishments of sweets shops including, Pahalwan workshop at Sanjay Nagar, Navdurga workshop at Gangyal, Choudhary Sweet Shop at Talab Tillo, Mahajan Sweets Shop at Talab Tillo, Bikaner Sweets Shop at Janipur, Halwaiz Sweet Shop at Bathindi, Zum Zum Sweets at Bathindi, Kwality Sweets Shop at Bathindi, Krishna Sweets at Bajalta, Laxmi Sweets shop at Domana, Royal Sweets and Bakers at Purkhoo.
The team lifted 23 samples of sweets, khoya etc, recommended 4 challans under unhygienic conditions and 3 improvement notices to Food Business Operators under Food Safety & Standards Act.
