NEW DELHI: Fuel prices rose again on Monday as petrol price climbed to Rs 71.57 a litre while diesel price went up to Rs 66.80 per litre in the national capital.
In Mumbai, petrol is retailing at Rs 77.20 a litre as against yesterday’s Rs 72.06 a litre. While diesel costs Rs 69.97 a litre.
Similarly, in Kolkata and Chennai petrol is at Rs 73.67 per litre and Rs 74.32 per litre. And diesel costs Rs 68.59 in Kolkata and Rs 70.59 a litre in Chennai.
As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon international fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price. (agencies)
