JAMMU, May 29: Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Jammu, organized a voluntary blood donation camp in collaboration with PG Department of Transfusion Medicine, Govt Medical College Jammu and Red Cross Society, Jammu at R S Pura Campus.
In the camp, 40 persons, who include students, teaching and non-teaching staff members, donated blood for the noble cause of humanity. The camp was inaugurated by Prof M M S Zama, Dean, FVSc & AH, in presence of Prof T A S Ganai, Director Education, SKUAST-Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Zama highlighted the importance of the blood donation and said that blood is such a valuable gift of the creator which has no substitute except its own. He also urged all to donate blood which could save the lives of the unclaimed, poor and needy accidental victims in the hospitals in times of emergencies.
Dr Kajal Khajuria, MD, PG Department of Transfusion Medicine, GMC, Jammu, briefed the gathering that donated blood is a vital tool for saving the precious human lives and also spoke about the diseases related to blood vascular system.
The camp was coordinated by Dr H K Sharma, Dr Ankur Sharma and Dr Pranav Kumar.
