GAD directive on Study Leave

JAMMU, Aug 13: The General Administration Department today directed the Administrative Secretaries to submit ‘Study Leave Cases’ of officers/officials to the GAD only as per the checklist. It said the incomplete cases will not be entertained.
“It has been observed that the ‘Study Leave Cases’ submitted by various Administrative Departments to the GAD for approval of competent authority are incomplete and don’t indicate as to whether the officer/official concerned has proceeded on leave and the conditions to grant the leave including those prescribed by the Finance Department have been fulfilled,’’ a GAD order said.
The order said in some of the cases it was found that the Administrative Department permit the officers/officials to proceed on Study Leave without prior approval of the competent authority.
“This is not only in violation of ‘Study Leave Rules’ but is setting up an unnecessary trend, which needs to be stopped,’’ the Government order said.
