JAMMU, Oct 7: A mega cancer conference organized by LBN Radiation of Hope in association with American Oncology Institute Jammu, Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, North Zone Chapter (NZ-AROI) and Indian Society of Clinical Oncology, was inaugurated today by Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner Secretary GAD.
The three-day mega event is going to witness workshops, symposiums, panel discussions, expert lectures and one to one discussions. Today, on second day of the conference, a free cancer screening and general health check up camp was organized in which 4 mobile buses were present.
AOI Jammu team offered free tests and services like Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Pap Smear, PSA, and other lab tests along with free Oncology, Gynaecology, and general consultation at the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Verma (Commissioner Secretary, GAD) said that such type of conferences generate awareness among masses and help medical fraternity especially faculty to brush up their knowledge. He praised the organizers for arranging free medical services for people of Jammu. He also acknowledged the work done by LBNROH Trust for cancer care.
Earlier, Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS delivered welcome address. Other important dignitaries present during inauguration were Ritu Singh, Dr RP Kudyar, Dr G K Rath, Dr Sameer Koul, Dr Neeraj Bishnoi (RCOO & AVP North AOI), Sanjeev Mishra (Zonal Director North AOI) and Rayhan Husaini (Facility Director, AOI Jammu).
Leading Radiation Oncologist Dr Deepak Abrol is the executive chairman of the conference while leading Medical Oncologist Dr Satyanker Gupta is the academic chairman of the conference.
