JAMMU, Jan 18: A deputation of All J&K Gaddi Sabha (AJKGS) here today met Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Commissioner Secretary of Tribal Affairs Department.
Members of Gaddi-Sippi Hostel were also present in the deputation which was led by AJKGS youth president, Kuldeep Kumar.
The deputation discussed some burning issues of Gaddi-Sippi Hostel Udhampur such as poor facilities of drinking water there, no facility of reading room, miserable condition of washrooms, water taps, improper functioning of geysers, faulty tube lights, non-availability of hostel staff etc.
“All these issues are creating problems for hostel students,” the deputation members said requesting Dr. Shahid Iqbal to resolve the issues as soon as possible.
The deputation demanded posting of a Hostel Warden along with Residential Warden, technician, additional cook, gatekeeper and sweeper in the hostel.
They also demanded urgent repair of washrooms, correcting the fault in electrical wiring, repairing of doors and windows, refrigerator and LCD-TV facilities along with Wi-Fi connection in the hostel.
In a handout the Sabha claimed that Dr. Shahid Iqbal assured to redress each and every issue raised by the deputation at the earliest.
Ajay Kumar, Vikas, Arun, Sunny and others were also present in the deputation.
