JAMMU, Mar 7: The repair work of RS Pura’s main bazaar road, which was at its worst for the last 15 years and was never taken care of by the successive representatives from RS Pura despite several assurances, was inaugurated today by MLA RS Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat.
While inaugurating the road work, Dr Bhagat said that the pace of developmental works which are witnessed for the last two months will be continued in the future also and soon a “Master Plan” for the Municipal Committee RS Pura will be prepared for the 13 wards of RS Pura.
“I have directed the concerned officials to use sandstones and tar to cover the potholes as the repair work done with gravel is washed off during the rains every time”, he added.
Dr Bhagat said, “though Rs 5 lakh is not sufficient for the repair work, I assure you that in near future complete transformation of main bazaar road will be started besides construction of various link roads under various schemes”.
To avoid road-digging, the MLA directed the concerned departments to coordinate with the Public Works Department and warned that strict action will be taken against the departments who will defy the norms.
Prominent among those present were EO RS Pura, AEE PWD and AEE Municipal Committee.
