JAMMU, Nov 7: MLA R S Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat today kick started the blacktopping from the Old Coopertaive Society near the Veterinary Sub-Centre at Village Keerpind. The blacktopping work was the long pending demand of the locals. The total length of the blacktopping of road stretch is about 8 kilometers with an estimated cost of Rs.2.8 crore from R.S Pura Main road Kulliyan to Village Laswara of the Bishnah Constituency. Senior and prominent citizens from Village Keerpind and its adjoining villages of Khour, Mamka, Phinder, Bhou also accompanied Dr.Gagan and thanked him for his sincere efforts , as the locals were interested in the said developmental work and have been demanding it for the past several years.
The issue was raised several times before the previous NC-Congress Government and their M.L.As, Ministers but all in vain as they did nothing except fake promises and assurances. The Bhartiya Janta Party, in its election manifesto in the Assembly elections of 2014 had promised to construct the road and work has been started within few months, the villagers said.
While addressing the gathering Dr.Gagan said that the Modi Government at the Centre is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of three regions of the State including drinking water, road connectivity, electricity, health services, drainage system and education, and it has been providing liberal funding to the State for accelerating developmental and economic activities adding that State is being developed in all respects. He apprised the people that there was no constraint of funds for completing the ongoing projects in a time bound manner. He also informed that a comprehensive plan has been formulated for up-gradation and expansion of basic facilities to provide all infrastructural facilities to the people of R.S Pura Constituency. He sought cooperation of the people in implementing the development program on ground level. The people of the area apprised the MLA about their demands and grievances seeking their immediate redressal.
