Gamblers nabbed by police

JAMMU, Jan 24: Police arrested three gamblers along with Rs 7,400 stake money from Shivalik Puram area, falling under the jurisdiction of Janipur police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Janipur police station conducted a raid in Shivalik Puram area and nabbed three gamblers.
On seeing the police team, the gamblers tried to escape, but the active cops of Janipur police station chased and nabbed them.
The accused have been identified as Sunny Sharma, son of Ravi Sharma, Ankush Gupta, son of Inder Gupta and Sonu Gupta, son of Dev Raj Gupta, all residents of Janipur Colony.
Police recovered Rs 7,400 stake money and playing cards from the spot.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered against them at police station Janipur and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Janipur police station Inspector Manzoor Ahmed Kohli made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Shri Ram, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
