JAMMU, Apr 10: Bahu Fort and Narwal Police jointly busted a gambling den with the arrest of nine persons along with Rs 35,000 stake money.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali and assisted by Incharge Police Post Narwal SI Achal Rana conducted raid in Transport Nagar area and busted a gambling den with the arrest of nine persons along with Rs 35,000 stake money. The betting equipment (matka) was also recovered and seized on the spot.
The arrested persons were identified as Pappu Kumar, son of Babu Ram of Rajeev Nagar Narwal, Param, son of Santosh of Rajeev Nagar Narwal, Abay, son of Kala Ram of Rajeev Nagar Narwal, Kala, son of Lachhi Ram of Madhya Pradesh, at present Channi Rama, Rahul, son of Mohan of Madhya Pradesh, at present Channi Rama, Ashwani Kumar, son of Romesh Lal of Rehari, Sunny Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar of Bagh-e-Bahu, Bittu Ram, son of Khalati of Bagh-e-Bahu and Netar Pal, son of Ram Naresh of Uttar Pradesh, at present Channi Rama.
Cognizance under Section 13 Gambling Act has been initiated by Bahu Fort Police against the arrested persons.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta Sharma.
