Ganai releases Tabish’s album ‘Doad Te Dug’

SRINAGAR, Oct 6: Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai today released the musical album of poet Dr Syed Amin Tabish at Department of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) auditorium.
The event was organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Language (JKAACL) in collaboration DIPR-JK.
The event was attended by Secy JKAACL Dr Aziz Hajini, noted writer and poet Rehman Rahi, Justice (Retd) Hassnain Masoodi, Dr Riyaz Untoo, Principal SKIMS Medical College and number poets, artists and journalists, in addition of music lovers.
While congratulating Dr Tabish for bringing out his poetry collection in the form of a musical album, Advisor Ganai said that the poetry had already enriched the Kashmiri literature and now bringing it out as an album has added sheen to it. He also praised those singers who have sung the songs in the album.
Speaking on the importance of preserving Kashmiri language, Advisor Ganai said that this language should be taught to students at school level in a mission mode. He said that at Government level everything will be done to promote all the regional languages of J&K, including Kashmiri.
The singers who have sung the poetry of Tabish in this album include Waheed Jeelani, Kaisar Nizami, Muneer Mir, Shazia Bashir and Shaheen Mumtaz.
While addressing the gathering Dr Tabish said that there is a need to preserve the mother tongue as death of mother tongue is considered to be the death to a community.
Aziz Hajini and Rahman Rahi also spoke on the occasion.
