JAMMU, July 17: Gandhi Global Family (GGF), J&K, in its meeting held here today appealed for the restoration of peace and harmony in the Kashmir.
The meeting that held at Luthra Academy, Kachi Chawni, under the chairmanship of its president, Padamshree SP Varma, discussed at length the situation in Kashmir during past 12 days and expressed concern over the loss of human lives and those injured.
The speakers underlined the essence of Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence to deal with the current situation. They appealed all the citizens of the State to understand the gravity of situation and play positive role to normalize the situation. They showed their readiness for all possible support to the injured and decided to send a GGF delegation to Srinagar.
The members said that we are in contact with our friends in Kashmir who are already in service to the injured. “The need of hour is that constructive forces should come together to work for restoration of sustainable peace without any biases and leave no vacuum for anti-social elements to further deteriorate the situation”, they added.
The speakers further stated that a culture of peace, non-violence, tolerance and understanding is the need for sustainable peace in region and beyond.
The peace organization also appealed to the Central and State Governments especially the local administration to tackle the present turmoil more diligently and with human friendly approaches. The GGF also expressed hope for a smooth Yatra while keeping intact the age-old tradition of hospitality of Kashmiri people.
Prominent among others who spoke on occasion and gave suggestions include RL Bharti, Narinder Singh, Ghulam Nabi Tantray, SK Jain, Johnson Gill, Manash Joshi, Vikram Gujral, Mohd Farooq Mughal, Rajive Luthra, Narinder Sharma, Ashaq Malik, Sanjeev Luthra, Anil Gaind, Shailender Vaid, Samir Chadha and Raghav Sharma.
