JAMMU, Aug 13: Gandhi King Literary Society under the auspices of Gandhi Peace Foundation, Jammu Chapter was launched in the Junior Wing of KC Public School.
The chief guest on the occasion was Ramesh Sharma, Coordinator, Gandhi Peace Foundation. He was accompanied with his wife Sudha Sharma. Dr Seema Rohmetra, Local Co-ordinator, Gandhi Peace Foundation, Jammu Chapter and Level I Kingian trainer also graced the occasion with her benign presence and coordinated the event with Sonia Thakur, Activity Incharge, KC Public School in launching this society.
A short cultural programme was presented comprising of choreographic movement on ‘Hey Ram’ Song, inspirational skits based on life of Gandhi and a motivational poem.
Sofia Rana, Headmistress of the school administered oath to the office bearers in which they solemnly affirmed that they will diligently uphold and promote the ideals of truth and non violence propagated by Mahatma Gandhi and will serve as a positive role model and voice for school community to follow the principles of integrity, respect, determination, peace and humility.
Ramesh Sharma in his eloquent address created a positive synergy which struck a warm chord with the students. His interactive approach, motivational chants, anecdotes, theatre games won every one’s heart. He also sang an inspirational song which students sang with him in unison highlighting the theme ‘World is One’.
While speaking, Headmistress Sophi said that KC Public School will surely integrate activities on Mahatma Gandhi with the school curriculum and follow the great life philosophy of self discipline and self reliance.
The programme ended with vote of thanks.
