Gandhi Memorial College honours Prof Zutshi

JAMMU, June 3: Gandhi Memorial Camp College Raipur, Bantalab, , hosted an impressive function to honor Prof. B. L. Zutshi, a well known scholar and president of the Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK).
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Vijay Bakaya Chief Secretary (retd), Kuldeep Khoda, Director General of Police (retd) and U. K. Jalali, former Advocate General and Senior Advocate at J&K High Court, Prof. Veena Pandita, former Chairperson of JKBOSE, Prof. B. L. Koul, an eminent environmentalist, and other esteemed members of the Executive Body, including Prof. Verinder Rawal, Virender Raina, Prof. Savita Raina, and M. K. Bangroo, senior journalist were also in attendance.
During the event, U. K. Jalali praised Prof. Zutshi for his remarkable achievements in revitalizing institutions that were on the brink of closure, attributing their revival to Prof. Zutshi’s exceptional statesmanship. Kuldeep Khoda emphasized the historical significance of Prof. Zutshi’s leadership, while Prof. Veena Pandita and Prof. B. L. Koul commended his unwavering dedication to institutional development.
Vijay Bakaya lauded Prof. Zutshi for his academic and administrative skills, highlighting his ability to handle difficult situations with composure and dexterity. Prof. Verinder Rawal, the general secretary, HESK also addressed the audience, shedding light on the institution’s development infrastructure.
The staff members expressed their appreciation by presenting a shawl to Prof. Zutshi in recognition of his leadership. Prof. Satish Talashi, the Principal, delivered welcome address, and Prof. Hema Koul presented a paper on the institution’s development activities over time. The programme was meticulously coordinated by Pradeep Pandita. Prof. Meenu Khazanchi delivered the vote of thanks.
In his speech, Prof. Zutshi expressed gratitude for the support he received from colleagues and the community. He thanked the speakers, including Prof. Ashok Aima, Prof. Veena Pandita, and Prof. B. L. Koul, acknowledging the crucial role played by brilliant Senior Advocate Upinder Jalali in his efforts. Prof. Zutshi further explained that his consistent fight for the preservation of the heritage institution and securing Grant-in-Aid status for Jammu Camp College was bolstered by the unwavering trust of his colleagues in the Executive Body.
He also appreciated the hard work and sincerity of his campus coordinator, Dileep Mattoo.
