Gandhi Nagar hospital organises function on family welfare

JAMMU, July 11: Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar today organized a function in collaboration with Directorate of MCH, Family Welfare and Immunization.
The function was held on the directions of Secretary Health and Medical Education Bhupinder Kumar and guidance of Director Family Welfare Dr Tabassum Jabeen.
In his opening remarks, Dr Parveen Yograj, Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar discussed the important of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and called for taking a pledge to adopt family planning as a choice for happiness and prosperity.
He said in the first phase, 13,000 ASHA workers of Jammu and Kashmir gave counsellinfg and contraceptive information to rural masses.
Dr Poonam Sethi said that Jammu and Kashmir has total fertility rate of 1:4 which is far better than national figure of 2:1.
Others who addressed the function include Dr Shahid Hussain, State immunization Officer, Dr Daisy Parihar, Principal ANMT School Gandhi Nagar and Dr Arti Nayyer, Deputy CMO Jammu.
Janvi Sharma was declared as winner of the poster colour competition while second and third prizes were shared by multiple students.
