Gandhi Sewa Sadan observes 100th birth anniversary of Mehta

JAMMU, June 4: The one hundredth birthday of Krishna Mehta first women MP from J&K, the freedom fighter and the founder of Gandhi Sewa Sadan was observed with enthusiasm and charm by Shri Gandhi Sewa Sadan here today.
On the occasion a book written on Krishna Mehta by the senior manger Ashok Kumar Dikshit under the name Ateet Kay Lekha Chitar was released by Comrade Jaswant Singh and Pushpa Mehta.
The book reflects Krishana Mehta’s life, her 16 year struggle in J&K who looked after Gandhi Seva Sadan like her third son. This was the reason that Gandhi Sewa Sadan reached to its present status, said the book.
Dixit said that the credit of Khadi Andolan in J&K goes to her as she provided a chance for lakhs of idle and without support people to go ahead in life.
The chief guest while paying tributes to Mehta urged the gathering to follow her footsteps.
