Gang of burglars busted, goods worth lakhs recovered

Srinagar, Nov 26: Police today said it have busted a burglary gang in central Kashmir’s Budgam district and arrested its three members and also recovered stolen gold worth rupees 5 lakhs and two vehicles on their instance.
A police spokesman said from past few months the cops at Humhama police post were receiving burglary complaints regarding breaking into of houses by unknown persons during daytime and stealing of gold and cash. “To curb this trend and to solve these cases , Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)Budgam Fayaz Ahmad Lone constituted a special anti-burglary team,” he said.
The spokesman said the investigating team succeeded in busting a three-member gang. “Those who have been arrested are Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, Abdul Hamid Malik and Abdul Gani Pujoo,” he said, adding: “the arrest of the trio led to the recovery of gold worth rupees five Lakh and 2 stolen vehicles. Further investigating is going on in this regard.”
