*4 stolen bikes, Tata Magic recovered

RAJOURI, June 23: The police claimed to have busted a gang of thieves in Manjakote area and recovered four stolen bikes and a Tata Magic vehicle from their possession.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Yougal Manhas said that during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, a team of police from Manjakote Police Station headed by Station House Officer, Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police officer Manjakote, Nisar Khoja, during routine night patrol found three persons roaming suspiciously on a tractor.
Police team intercepted them and started to inquire about their whereabouts and the reason for moving in darkness during which they fumbled and failed to give any satisfactory answer after which they were detained and taken to Police Station, SSP said.
He added that they were put to questioning during which they confessed their involvement in thefts of vehicles, especially two wheelers from the area and also informed that the tractor they were travelling is being used to carry stolen two- wheelers.
They also disclosed about involvement of another person in their racket after which raids were conducted at several locations and fourth accused was also nabbed.
Those arrested were identified as Wasim Khan, son of Mohammad Farooq, resident of Mangalnar Manjakote; Khaliq Bhatti, son of Mohammad Khaliq, resident of Deri Ralyote; Tanveer Shah, son of Taj Shah, resident of Sanai village and Haq Nawaz alias Mehboob Shah resident of Sanai, Surankote (Poonch).
On their disclosure, police recovered five vehicles including three motorcycles, one scooty and one Tata Magic auto, which were stolen by them from areas of Poonch district.
Police has also registered a case in FIR 88/2019 under sections 379 RPC in Manjakote Police Station. Further investigation was in progress.
