SAMBA, Oct 13: Samba Police has arrested a gang of two motor cycle lifters and recovered 10 two wheelers on the disclosures made by them.
According to police one Avtar Singh S/o Joginder Singh R/o Sainik Colony, Jammu working in a factory at IGC Phase-1 SIDCO Samba lodged a written report at Police Post SIDCO that his Motor Cycle Hero Passion Plus bearing Registration No. JK02X-1832 parked outside the factory has been stolen. A case FIR No. 175/2015 u/s 379, 411 RPC was registered at Police Station Samba in this regard and investigation started. Acting on the report, a strong Naka headed by Inspector Khalil Ahmed, Incharge PP SIDCO under the supervision of Varinder Singh, Dy. SP HQ Samba and Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba, was laid at SIDCO Chowk Samba. During checking two persons namely Ashwani Kumar S/o Dharam Pal R/O Koulpur Ramgarh & Sunil Kumar S/o Dev Raj R/o Vijaypur were nabbed by the Police Party along with the stolen motor cycle after giving them a hot chase, police added.
Police said during thorough questioning, both the accused persons disclosed that they used to sell the stolen motor cycles to one Sohan Lal S/o Bishan Dass R/o Jatwal who is working as a Scrap dealer in Ghagwal. Thereafter, a raid was conducted into the business premises of Sohan Lal and recovery of nine more motor cycles including JK02AB-1685 Hero Passion Plus, Black in Colour, JK02AC-6551 Hero Passion Plus, Black in Colour, JK02T-8061 Hero Passion Plus, Black in Colour, JK02AE-0830 Hero Passion Plus, Black in Colour, PB18K-0493 Hero Passion Plus, Red in Colour, JK02X-1330 Hero Passion Plus, Black in Colour, JK02AC-3311 Hero Passion Plus, Black in Colour, JK02AC-1856 Bajaj Pulsar 150-CC, Red in Colour , Without Number Bajaj Pulsar 150-CC, Black in Colour, were made by the Police Party, police added.
Police said all the motor cycles were seized under Section 550 Cr.P.C. Further investigation into the matter is going on and recovery of other thefts/vehicles in other cases by these accused persons cannot be ruled out.
