Ganga asks youth to adopt positive approach towards life

SAMBA, Jan 5: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga visited Jammu Kashmir Entrepreneu-rship Development Institute (JKEDI) and interacted with prospective entrepreneurs who successfully completed their training under Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) here today.
The Minister while interacting with candidates said that youth is the future and mirror of society and asked them to adopt positive approach towards life which would play a vital role in the development of the nation. He discussed various business activities with the aspirants.
Mr Ganga talked to them regarding their proposed business ventures, assuring them all possible support from the Government to make their projects successful.
MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal and District Development Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda accompanied the Minister during the visit.
On the occasion, young aspirants shared their ideas regarding variety of business activities under manufacturing, services, agro and allied sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ganga asked the candidates to adopt innovative techniques in running their proposed business units so that they would be able to face market challenges.
The Minister said that it is not possible to provide Government jobs to everyone and stressed on to avail benefits of various self-employment schemes which have been introduced by the Centre and State Governments to help youth in establishing their own business units, in turn providing employment to others, thus becoming employment providers. He also stressed for adopting innovative ideas to develop their business ventures.
“Entrepreneurs are helping the nation in its overall development and it is the duty of the government to support them”, he added.
MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal also interacted with the candidates and shared his thoughts on their proposed business units.
On the occasion, Director JKEDI, M I Parray informed the Minister, that the institute is providing training to interested candidates under self-employment schemes viz Seed Capital Fund scheme, Youth Start-up loan scheme and Himayat self- employment scheme and recently 47 candidates were trained in 21 days under SCF and YSL schemes.
Director JKEDI informed that the department is focusing especially on youth of rural areas to make them self reliant by providing them training and financial assistance through various schemes.
The Minister was also informed that the curriculum of the training includes a proper mix of theory and actual market simulation with adequate field visits and the programme aims to equip candidates with business skills and exposure to market situations.
