Ganga exhorts Sarpanchs, Panchs to redress people issues

JAMMU, Dec 9: Exhorting newly elected Sarpanchs and Panchs to exhibit high degree of commitment and dedication to redress the issues of their people, Former Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chander Prakash Ganga, today said that they can be instrumental in taking the rural areas towards enhanced growth and development by exercising their powers as Panchayat representatives.
“The Panchayat representatives are an integral part of our democratic set up and have to be strong ethically and intellectually to become role models of rural democracy”, he stated while asking the Sarpanchs and Panchs to perform their role and responsibilities in a total professional manner.
Ganga while addressing a public gathering at Village Kamala Panchayat Dabuj Shahzada, Vijaypur said that the massive participation in the Panchayat polls has confirmed the faith of people in democracy and the people whom they voted. “Now it is the time for the elected representatives to reciprocate the love of people by serving them whole heartedly”, he asserted.
He expressed happiness that only good people have come at the helm of affairs in PRIs and hoped that they will prove to be of immense help for rural and far off areas to grow with new speed and momentum. He also appealed the people to extend their whole hearted cooperation to their Sarpanchs and Panchs for rapid development irrespective of caste or colour.
