Ganga inaugurates AYUSH camp

SAMBA, Dec 5: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga, today inaugurated AYUSH health camp at border village Keso Manhasan in Ramgarh area.
Being organized by Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra in collaboration with the Department of Indian System of Medicines (ISM), the camp provided free treatment and medicines.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the Government is keen to promote traditional Indian System of Medicine in the State. He asked the department to encourage people to avail the treatment provided by AYUSH. He said that in addition to primary health centers, where free of cost medicines and other facilities are available, the Government has also set up ISM health centers in both State as well as district level hospitals.
Spelling out the importance of Ayurveda and Yoga, Ganga said that these are probably the most popular alternative therapies available in India for different ailments. Besider, these two sciences have also become extremely popular in the Western world, he added. He stressed for adopting Ayurveda and Yoga in daily lives to remain healthy physically as well as mentally.
He underscored the need for organizing more such camps in the State especially in rural areas for ensuring maximum benefit to the people.
During the day-long camp, patients were examined by the ISM specialists and were provided free health check-up and medicines.
Among others, BMO Ramgarh, Dr Harbaksh Singh, Nodal officer, ISM Samba, Dr Rohit Gupta, Tehsildar Ramgarh, Jai Kumar Sharma, President, Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra, Veena Bakshi, Sarpanches, panches and local public of the area were present on the occasion.
