SAMBA, Dec 11: Reaffirm-ing Government’s resolve to augment the basic amenities in the State with emphasis on unattended areas, the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today said Vijaypur will be developed as a model town with modern public utilities and related infrastructure.
The Minister stated this while addressing a series of public gatherings after inaugurating several development works at Vijaypur, Jakh and adjoining areas.
The Minister inaugurated 3 lanes and drains at Ward No: 6, 7 and 8 which were constructed by Municipal Committee Vijaypur at a cost of Rs 12 lakh under district plan and Integrated Development of Medium Towns. He directed the officials to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) for other priority works to be taken up in the municipal areas.
Referring to several development and welfare works being done in the area, the Minister said the Government has prioritized improvement of basic services in every part of the State besides laying thrust on extending a more accountable, responsive and transparent administration to the people. “It is the endeavor of Government to make the people equal stakeholders in growth and development of their respective areas”, he maintained.
The Minister, while appealing the people to monitor the works being executed in their respective areas, said this will not only ensure effective implementation of developmental initiatives but also encourage the authorities to work hard and achieve the set goals in time.
The Minister also kick-started black topping of 1 km road at Mrui village which is being executed by PWD under City and Town Road scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh.
Meanwhile, various deputations of locals called on the Minister and apprised him of their problems and demands seeking early redress of the same.
The Minister assured the people that all their issues would be looked into for necessary action.
