JAMMU: Minister of Commerce & Industries, Chander Prakash Ganga today inaugurated a mega job fair organized by District Employment and Counselling Centre, Samba under National Career Service Programme of Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Deputy Commissioner Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba Anil Magotra, Asst. Director DECC Samba Naresh Kumar, Young Professional Officer MCC Rahul Vohra, CCO Samba Dushyant Singh along with other district officers and a large number of youths were present on the occasion.
The Minister inspected various stalls set up by various companies during the event and inquired about schemes being provided by the companies for unemployed youth of the District.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister accentuated that educated youth should come forward and take benefits of the schemes and programmes. He urged the stakeholders for full cooperation to make the event successful in the larger interest of the unemployed youth of the district. He said that more than 200 youths will be selected and get job opportunity through this job fair.
Reiterating government’s commitment to promote industrial sector in the state, the Minister said that several new industrial units are coming up in the state which will help to create ample job opportunities for the local youth.
Earlier, the Minister addressed a public meeting at Village Birpur District Samba where a large number of people from different sections of the society apprised him of their problems and grievances.
People apprised him about issues like road connectivity, lane and drain, unscheduled power cuts, non-availability of drinking water and many more alike. The Minister gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the people and assured that genuine issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action. He also issued on spot direction to the concerned officers for the redressal of genuine demands of the people.
While speaking on this occasion, the Minister said that government has provided a platform to the general public for direct interaction with its Ministers so the woes of the people are raised at highest level and mitigated.
He added that social and economic upliftment of the weaker sections, downtrodden, women, youth and farmer is on prime agenda of the government. The Minister said that the government has laid full focus on development of infrastructure and providing better civic amenities to the people of the state.
