Ganga launches Rs 20 lakh blacktopping work

JAMMU, May 22: Former Minister and MLA, Vijaypur constituency, Chander Parkash Ganga today said that villages need to grow in tandem with cities and standard of life in rural areas needs  to be improved for inclusive growth and prevention of rural migration.
He said in this regard, the Government is executing several measures like promotion of small scale industries in rural areas, establishment of basic social and economic infrastructure, local economic development, urban service centers for rural areas, poverty reduction strategies, skill development etc. He said that such steps are key to empower villages so as to keep a check on rural migration as excessive urbanization is taking place at alarming rate thus creating an imbalance in availability of basic services in cities.
The MLA, while addressing the people after launching Rs 20 lakh blacktopping work on a road at Kullian village, said that development of villages at par with cities is need of the hour and present dispensation is successfully marching towards achieving this goal through numerous innovative programmes and policies.
“Empowerment of villages will have significant effect on GDP growth”, he added.
Ganga, while responding to various local demands, assured the people that their issues like construction of community facility center at Kullian, development around the pond, development of village ground, construction of approach roads, adequate power and water supply would be given priority and will be redressed within shortest possible time.
Ganga informed that a 6 MVA transformer in addition to existing would soon be installed at Jakh which will ease the load on the existing line at Kullian thus ensuring adequate power supply to the villagers making an end to frequent power curtailments.
“We are privileged to get a dedicated and hard working officers team in the district, who ensure speedy redressal of all issues without leaving space for any kind of complaint”, the MLA maintained while appreciating the district administration for its outstanding performance towards prompt delivery of public services.
