Jammu, May 26: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) and former Minister, Chander Prakash Ganga today toured various areas and took stock of the situation in shelling affected border villages of Samba district.
The MLA visited Keso Manhasan, Govindgarh, Chack Paras, Chack Bhamboo, Paradi, Channi Fatwal of Ramgarh sector and adjoining parts of the district.
Ganga had a detailed assessment of the losses being caused in these border villages due to continues firing besides interacting with the affected people to know their problems and demands.
“The firing at residential areas is condemnable and against human ethics as even during wars such habitations are being not attacked”, maintained the MLA. “It is very disgraceful and reprehensible on part of Pakistan that it has no respect and honour for Ramdhan”, he added.
The MLA, while elaborating on measures being taken up for welfare of border people, informed that about 2475 individual bunkers have recently been sanctioned, work on which will be started soon. Besides, 8 community bunkers have also been sanctioned by the Government.
He said that Chief Minister is also taking personal intervention in mitigating the sufferings of these affected people and monitoring all the initiatives herself in this regard. He added that CM has asked for exploring the possibility of construction of a Common Facility Center to facilitate these border people in case of such hostile situations. The Center will also have the facility to compensate the loss of students on education front due to frequent shelling on borders.
The MLA hoped that the Center would take up strict steps to reciprocate ongoing unfortunate firing at these borders in a befitting manner to teach the enemy a lesson.
Later, the MLA distributed financial assistance, out of his CDF, among several affected families.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajinder Singh Tara, SSP Samba, Anil Magotra, SDM Vijaypur, Sanjeev Kumar, Xen PDD Vijaypur Narotam Kumar, Tehsildar Ramgarh Romesh Bakshi and other concerned officers accompanied the Legislator.
