JAMMU, Feb 3: Minister for Industries & Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today unveiled the bust of CRPF Constable Naresh Kumar who laid down his life fighting Naxals in Jharkhand in 2010.
The bust of the CRPF constable has been installed at Government Higher Secondary School of his native village, Rahya in district Samba.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the role of security forces in maintaining peace and tranquility in the State and the country. He called upon the students to take inspiration from the supreme sacrifices of the brave soldiers who have always stood firm in the face of enemy to safeguard the country.
He further said that the valiant soldiers sacrifice their precious lives for securing the future of the nation and it is our responsibility to take care of the families of these martyrs. The Government has initiated various welfare schemes to lessen the miseries of these families, he added.
IGP, CRPF Jammu A V Chauhan, in his address, informed the audience that CRPF has taken an initiative of installing statues of martyrs in their schools to create awareness and motivate youth to join the security forces.
DIG, CRPF Joginder Singh, Commandant, 38 Battalion CRPF Ram Kumar, ADC Samba Tilak Raj Shastri, SSP, Samba Joginder Singh, Principal, Govt. Higher Secondary School, Rahya Jagdish Sharma, officers of CRPF and district administration, staff, students and family members of the martyr were present in the programme
