JAMMU, Nov 20: Gao-Raksha Samiti, Ambphalla celebrated “Gopal Ashtami” with religious ardency at Gao-Shalla, Ambphalla.
Sat Paul Sharma, MLA Jammu West, Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East and Prof Satish Kapoor, an eminent Sanskrit scholar and educationist graced the occasion as chief guest and guests of honour respectively.
The celebrations started with Ved Path by learned Pandits, followed by Sarswati Vandana by the students of Vidya Bharti Mandir School, Ambphalla.
Agyatnandan Jain, General Secretary of Samiti presented the welcome address.
Dr Surinder Sharma, President, Gao-Raksha Samiti, in his valued, literary and cultured address gave the details of activities of the Samiti and the efforts being made to make Gao-Shallas at all the places including Jandrah and Dathrayal as model Gao-Shallas.
Prof Satish Kapoor in his key note address, dealt at length how cows are revered by Hindus. He in his learned address said that how Surabhi cow descended from the spiritual World and manifested herself in the heavenly spheres from the aroma of celestial nectar for the benefit of all created beings.
Sat Sharma and Rajesh Gupta also expressed their views with regard to the occasion and made it clear that cows are considered to be the mothers of all creatures and assured full support to the Samiti in their benign-efforts.
In the end, Yog Raj Sharma, Ex-President presented the vote of thanks, whereas the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Kapil Sharma.
Among others present were SK Jain, PL Dubey, Gurudev Sharma, Sunil Kohli, Shashi Kant, Dr Pramod Baru, Raj Kumar Mogotra, Davinder Vaid, Brahmanand Sharma and Ashok Sharma.
