SAMBA, Dec 29: The readymade garments worth lakhs of rupees perished in the devastating fire that broke into a garments showroom located in Vijaypur area of Samba district this morning.
On receiving information, two fire tenders brought the fire under control after a lot of effort but till then readymade garments worth lakhs of rupees had perished in the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be the result of a short circuit.
The owner of the showroom M/S Parshuram & Sons shop said that he got information about smoke coming out of the shop. When he reached the shop, the fire had engulfed the entire showroom. He said he suffered a loss in lakhs of rupees due to the fire. The fire was brought under control by the efforts of firefighters. The firemen faced a tough time in fighting the blaze because the building housing showroom was of three storey.
