Gataru murder case: 3 held from Delhi

JAMMU, Feb 1: In a major breakthrough, police have arrested three key accused from Delhi in connection with the murder of gangster Sumit Jandial alias Gataru in Jewel Chowk area here on January 20 this year.

Police had already detained a few suspects and some other individuals who aided the accused in committing the crime and are quizzing them as part of the ongoing investigation.
“While some of the individuals have already been detained in the case, three key accused were arrested from different locations of Delhi today on the basis of intelligence gathered from different sources,” a police official said on condition of anonymity.
He said some of the detained youth are history-sheeter while others have never been involved in any crime.
While the police official didn’t disclose the names of the accused, sources said those arrested are Harsh, whose vehicle was used in the crime, Abhay Partap Singh alias Mui, and Arun.
According to sources, the accused had escaped to Delhi while concealing their weapons in Jammu.
Meanwhile, police have launched further investigation into the case.
