Gauri Kaul Foundation releases Annual Report under GHHP

SRINAGAR, Sept 30: The Guari Kaul Foundation today released its Annual Report under Gauri Healthy Heart Project (GHHP) during a function that was organized here which was attended by an array of people from different walks of life.
Speaking on the occasion, Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary told the gathering that the project was started last year and was aimed at examining the burden of heart diseases in J&K and for that varied number of camps were organized under the project-headed by Dr Upendra Kaul-across the Union Territory.
“The key to lessening the burden of the heart ailments is the early detection and under the project, those who could not afford the tests that need to be carried out for early detection have been helped,” he said.
He expressed his hopefulness that the project will grow with every passing day and reaches every corner of the Union Territory.
On the occasion, under ‘Mission No Heart Attack-2025,’ a one year report from September 2020-August 2021 was also released which deliberates on the burden of the disease in J&K and measures that need to be taken.
Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Aijaz Asad while speaking on the occasion said that the world, especially J&K needs such projects while underlining the need for lifestyle management.
Dr Upendra Kaul while addressing the gathering identified the factors that lead to heart ailments and impressed on the need for bringing such factors down and effectively controlling them.
He said under the project, a comprehensive health check-up scheme has been started which he said was the basic mission of the project that has been started.
“We have to eat healthily, add fruits, vegetables to your diet and that can help a great deal in managing and controlling the heart ailments,” he said, adding that under the project, they are also focusing on how to minimize the damage caused to patients who suffer heart attacks.
