GBIC lambasts Govt for ignoring Gujjar-Bakarwals in CMP

RAJOURI, Mar 9: Gujjar Bakarwal Ithad Council (GBIC) today lambasted BJP-PDP coalition Government in the State for not incorporating the issues of Gujjar-Bakarwals in its Common Minimum Programme (CMP).
Addressing a press conference at P G College Rajouri, GBIC State president, Tazeem Choudhary lambasted BJP-PDP for not incorporating their issues in CMP. He also criticizes both BJP and PDP for ignored the community by not giving space to their issues in CMP.
He further added that CMP prepared by coalition Government is not acceptable to Gujjar community at all. He further blamed PDP for dividing two communities on ST status.
GBIC president appealed the Government to implement Forest Right Act since in the State 2006 so that Gujjars and Bakarwals who are landless and shelter less may benefit from the same.
He urged the State Government to immediately provide political reservation and Forest Rights Act to Gujjar-Bakarwals otherwise they would be left with no alternative then to start an agitation.
