The team identified several traffic bottlenecks at these locations and planned to make recommendations to the Union Territory (UT) Government to address these issues. During their visit to the Achhan dumping site, they discussed various options for the treatment and disposal of solid waste, including the potential for a waste-to-energy project. They resolved to bring these matters to the attention of the SMC Commissioner, the Commissioner-Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department, and other relevant authorities.
Additionally, the GCC team discussed the operation of existing Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs) and the need to connect houseboats to the STP at Hazratbal, as proposed earlier. They also decided to recommend the full restoration and revival of Babademb (Brarinambal) Lake as a scenic water body and popular tourist attraction in the heart of the city.
