GCET Jammu without Recruitment Rules

Sir,
This is in reference to the news item “Creation of Cluster Universities, 2 new Professional Colleges gets nod” published in Daily Excelsior June 10, 2014. Under the component of creation of cluster Universities, the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has sanctioned, two Universities – one cluster university at Jammu with GGM Science college as lead college and other at Kashmir with Amar Singh college  as lead college. About the two new Professional colleges, sources said that the Project Approval Board (PAB) has approved two new Engg. Colleges, one named as College of Engg. & Tech, University of Jammu at Kathua and other named as Govt. College of Engg. & Tech  (GCET) – Ganderbal.
After going through the news item, it seems me little bit strange and embarrassing to know that, on one side the higher authorities show keen interest and great sense of commitment in opening new engineering colleges within the state, while on the other side, the Govt. College of Engg. & Tech (GCET) – Jammu, which is at present the only state owned engineering college and which has produced thousands of engineering graduates within the state so far, has been a victim of apathy, negligence and discriminatory attitude of the Govt. The reality can be gauged from the fact that, the GCET – Jammu, since its inception in 1994, still lacks the basic recruitment and faculty promotion rules.
Inspite of making repeated requests by the college teachers in this concern, the higher and tech. education deptt. of J&K state has failed to address their long pending demands. Therefore, keeping the submission and facts as said above, in view a fervent plea is made to the higher ups to kindly address the grievances.
Yours etc…
Singer Sharma, Jammu.
