JAMMU, Oct 18: Government College of Engineering & Technology, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu, organized blood donation camp, here today, in collaboration with PG Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Government Medical College, Jammu.
During the programme, awareness lecture on “Blood Donation” and interactive session were also organized. About 65 students and staff donated blood.
Dr Vijay Sawhney (HoD, PG Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Government Medical College, Jammu) spoke about the importance of blood donation. Dr Sarbjeet Singh, convenor Red Cross and Associate Professor & Head, Mechanical Engineering Department, GCET, Jammu, stressed on the need of role of youth in nation’s development and stressed on the need of donating blood. He further announced that these type of camps will also be organized in future for both students and faculty of the institute.
The programme was presided over by Vipin Kumari, Registrar, GCET, Jammu.
