JAMMU, Feb 17: The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Jammu, organised an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outreach Program at Govt Model Higher Secondary School, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
The outreach program was aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, encouraging students to explore their entrepreneurial potential.
The proceedings commenced with a warm welcome by Reeya Rehan, a student from GCET, setting the tone for an enriching day. Er Sanjeev Gupta, Associate Professor, GCET Jammu addressed the gathering, highlighting the paramount importance of innovation in today’s fast-evolving world. His words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the need for students to cultivate a mindset that embraces creativity and forward-thinking.
Power Point presentations delving into the essence of innovation & entrepreneurship and critical process of idea generation, underlining its significance in the entrepreneurial journey were given by Reeya Rehan and Pratiksha Kalsotra.
The attendees were treated to engaging discussions, interactive sessions, and hands-on activities with amazing games and rewards, creating an environment conducive to idea exchange and collaboration.
The program underscored the importance of nurturing a mindset that embraces innovation and entrepreneurship as essential elements of academic and professional growth. Around 52 school students attended the program.
Dr Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET Jammu, lauded the efforts of the Startup Cell and the student volunteers. She commended the commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the academic community.
The GCET’s Startup Cell was represented by Dr Bhawna Sharma, Er Sheetal Gandotra, Er Sanjeev Gupta, Er Neeraj Gupta and the student volunteers—Harsh Vardhan Sharma, Reeya Rehan, Yashsavi Thakur, Prashita Kalsotra, Vishal Bhat and Shanwaz.
