JAMMU, Mar 28: NSS unit of Government College of Education, Jammu conducted two day national survey of youth, who are not in employment, in the adopted village Nadwal of Bhalwal block under the patronage of Prof Aekta Gupta, Principal of the College.
Before conducting the survey, training was given by NSS Programme Officer Dr Shubhra Jamwal to the NSS volunteers for conducting the national survey of youth between the age group of 15 and 29 years, who are not in formal education or regular employment as directed by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India to formulate National Youth Policy.
A total of 70 volunteers of the NSS visited the adopted village. The listing of the households was done followed by conducting the survey in the form of 14 page questionare as directed by the Ministry covering approximately 120 houses in the whole village. A rally on drug de-addiction was also carried out in order to create awareness about “Nasha Mukt Bharat”.
According to NSS PO Dr Shubhra Jamwal, the data collected in the village will be sent to Regional Directorate Delhi. The Principal Prof Aekta Gupta appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers, who remain in the forefront to work for the upliftment of the society.
Prof Anju Bala, Dr Rajinder Kour, Prof Anuradha Choudhary, Prof Sarita Dogra, Dr Shalini Sharma, Prof Neeraj Verma, Prof Shapia Shameem, Prof Seema and Prof Vinay Lata were also present. The programme was also attended by Dr Pardeep Bali, Ram Lal and other staff members of the college.
