GCOE organizes two-day international workshop on “research and innovations”

JAMMU, Feb 16: Research and Development Cell and IQAC of Government College of Education Jammu today organized two day international workshop on “Innovations in Research Methodology and Quality Concerns in Pedagogical Studies: NEP-2020” in blended mode.
Luminaries from different fields graced the occasion with their presence and chaired technical sessions during the workshop. The chief guest was Prof (Dr) Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges, Department of Higher Education.
The prominent dignitaries Prof Renu Nanda, Dr Malini Ganapathy, Dr Sangeeta Kaul and Dr Zubair Kales. Deans of Cluster University of Jammu were also present on the occasion.
In her address, Prof Aekta Gupta, Principal of the College, said that innovations in research methodology develops and optimizes research acumen in students and scholars. “It also helps in exploring and finding better solutions. The research and innovation is now an inbuilt part of NEP 2020 thus higher education institutions in India are now laying emphasis on creating new ideas, analyzing problems, diagnosing them and identifying their causes and providing solutions”, she added.
Prof Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges, presided over the inaugural session and motivated participants through her inspirational talk. She also emphasized on the need of such workshops for updating knowledge of technology and innovations in emerging field of research.
The MoU was also signed between GCOE Jammu and GCOE Srinagar during the workshop. Three technical sessions were chaired on day one of the workshop by key speakers – Dr Renu Nanda, Head, Post Graduate Department of Education, University of Jammu, Dr Sangeeta Kaul, Director DELNET, Delhi and Sanjay Sharma from IIIM Jammu.
Dr Sushma Bala, Convener of the workshop and Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Organising Secretary said that scholars and students have gained knowledge about various innovative methodologies in research which will help in improving education under NEP 2020.
The event was co-ordinated by Prof Shalini Rana, IQAC Co-convener, Dr Deepak K Bangotra, Prof Shamboo Nath. Prof Satish Sharma presented the formal vote of thanks.
