GCOE students pledge to protect environment

JAMMU, July 5: The NSS Unit and Nature Club of Government College of Education Jammu today organized a poetry recitation competition to encourage the students to take initiatives for protection of environment.
A number of students took part in the event that highlighted the essence of trees and the importance of saving them. The event was judged by Dr Jyoti Parihar, Prof Anju Bala and Prof Satish Kumar.
Mehak Sardalia, Richa Anand and Kanchan sharma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the competition. On the occasion, the Jury members stressed upon the importance of trees and the practical steps to be taken for environmental sustainability.
Under the leadership of Principal Dr Kulvinder Kour and guidance of NSS PO Dr Shubhra Jamwal everyone took the “Green Pledge” avoid wastage of natural resources and make country more clean, green and healthy. Prof Shapia Shameem Bhatti, Prof Neeraj Verma, Prof Sarita Dogra, Prof Seema sharma, Dr Sushma Bala and Prof Mansi Sharma actively participated in the event.
