GCPFI holds meet to discuss political issues of General Category

JAMMU, June 1: To discusses the Scio-economic and political issues of the General Category a meeting of the General Category People’s Front of India (GCPFI) was held here today.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, Chairman of the Front.
Addressing the meeting, Prof. Yash Paul Sharma, President of the Front said that the General Category had started to foster an interest in unity against continuous neglect, marginalization and caste based discrimination by the Indian Political class.
He said, “The low turnout and use of NOTA in the elections was due to anger shown by the people against the divisive vote bank politics, discriminatory polices based on inequality, injustice violating basic fundamental rights and international Human Rights. Political class had been losing the trust of the Swarn Castes, who had started to oppose Government policies based on caste, class, and religion to secure equal rights and treatment.”
“Government socio- economic and politics are full of contradictions, inequalities, injustices which are worrisome, as it is going to have dangerous consequences for social harmony,” he added.
S.N. Sharma, General Secretary, GCPFI, strongly opposed “Abuse and Misuse” of constitution and demanded removal of restrictions imposed on the application of Article 14, 15 and 16 and ensure ‘Right to be elected’ for all.
Among others who attended the meeting included Bhushan Pargal, Dr. Bansi Lal, Gopal Dass Verma, Deepak Khajuria, Surinder Kumar and, Jagdish Dogra.
