GCW, Canara Bank to offer free digital learning, certification

JAMMU, Oct 14: In order to promote digital learning and skill enhancement, GCW Gandhi Nagar in partnership with Canara Bank, is offering free access to a wide variety of online courses and certification programs via Coursera.
In this regard a function was held here today.
Dr. Naresh Sharma, Convenor Career Counselling cell welcome the guests and Dr Ashok, Head Department of Biochemistry gave a brief about the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Mandar Teredesai, Chief Manager from Canara Bank said, “This initiative is a great step towards empowering our youth with the skills they need to succeed in a fast-evolving global job market.”
“This initiative is aimed at empowering the youth aged 18-28 with world-class educational resources and credentials that are recognized both nationally and internationally,” he added.
The program provides an unprecedented opportunity for students to upskill, facilitating their pursuit of higher education and opening doors to national and global job opportunities.
With courses across diverse fields such as technology, business, science, and the arts, this initiative aligns with India’s vision of creating a digitally empowered society.
Approximately 350 students participated in the event.
Among others who attended the camp included Sushil Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Arun Kumar, Priyanka, Rahul Fotedar, Dr Rajinder, Prof Suman Bala, Dr Asha Devi, Prof Vinay lata and Prof Sugandha Mahajan.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Poonam Kesar.
