JAMMU, May 8: Government College for Women Gandhinagar, in collaboration with Regional Centre IGNOU and IGNOU Study Centres 1285 and 1232, organized an induction program for its fresher students.
This initiative was aimed to equip students with valuable information about Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), including its diverse course offerings, admission procedures, and the array of student support services available.
Dr Jai Prakash Verma, Regional Director, IGNOU, addressed the gathering and offered insightful details about the university’s unique educational approach and its day-to-day operations.
Dr Vikram Singh engaged the audience with a captivating virtual tour of IGNOU showcased on a large screen. He provided practical explanations on the admission process, assignment submission procedures, and access to study materials.
Dr Sandeep Gupta delved into the fundamentals of IGNOU study centres and fostered an interactive session with the students to address any questions or concerns they might have.
Dr Rahul Sharma, Coordinator of IGNOU Study Centre 1285 expressed his gratitude to the guests from the Regional Centre, including Dr Jai Prakash Verma (Regional Director), Dr Vikram Singh, Dr Sandeep Gupta (Assistant Regional Director), and Dr Neeraj Sharma (Coordinator of IGNOU Study Centre 1232). He further elaborated on the functioning of IGNOU Study Centre 1285.
Dr Sharma emphasized the significance of the collaboration between IGNOU and GCW Gandhinagar. This partnership opens doors for students to explore the vast range of academic programs offered by IGNOU, he added.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Suman Bala, Assistant Coordinator. Dr Rahul Sharma , Dr Ashok Kumar, Prof Abhinav Sharma, Prof Rohit Gupta, Dinesh Khajuria, Padma, Deep, Sunil Sharma, and Shad played a key role in organizing the successful induction program.
